RESEARCH EXERCISE
Fiona Hall
The series---‘Paradisus terrestris’(1989-1990), feature an array of plants that make reference to paradise. The image I choose is one of its third series of ‘Paradisus terrestris’ , the Sri Lan k an series.
Fiona Hall used golden sardine cans for sacred or significant plants such as the temple flower.
And these botanical specimens are intricately filigreed from tin, sprouting atop recycled sardine cans. Each partially opened can exposes an embossed, naked body part, or a scene of erotic play.
Rosalie Gascoigne
Down to the silver sea (1981-82)
The materials being used in this work are wooden box, galvanized iron, cotton flour bag, photographic reproduction, plastic doll leg.
COLLAGE
I found most of her works have given people this impression -----collage. Rosalie’s done this piece still based on it; a collage, and it was that doll’s leg that she detached, just make me feel being involved with the placement of objects.
