Week 4----Explosion

This piece of work is based on the concept of deconstruction which aroused me to think of earthquack. Then the  things will derive from it. The buildings will break down into pieces. Just rebuild them into a new kind of architecture in deconstruction style.

Week3--Experience of the city

When experiencing the city, it is easy to find that city is sectioned by variety elements horizontally or vertically. It is quite often that we use lines to separate something, even space. No matter whether the lines are straight or not, large or small, they work. Seen from any point of view, the city that we lived here is sectioned creating diverse spaces.

From the lower part of the city, the most powerful influential one is the pillar. Pillars play the fundamental structural and decorative role in the building, especially during the route that we visit. I really enjoy the procedure of finding out different shapes materials made pillars. The most memorable posts are the ones looked like tree trunks dividing the space using beveled lines and creating special lights and shadow effect.

After taken linear lines as the basic elements, some other linear lines can be spotted out. Structure compositions of the high level buildings construct fantastic spatial division in the high altitude of this city. They always are built into crossing shape and directly revealed to the sky, becoming part of the city landscape.

Shelters work as protections have the horizontal dividing function of the city. They provide the boundary of transition stage from outside to inside space. Some shelters have beautiful exposing structure straightly providing dividing effects.

Other separating elements are the windows and doors which are commonly used during the buildings. There are quite different sizes and arrangements creating large amounts of spatial separation.

Except those elements mentioned the above, there exists special marks for separating the city. The traffic lights the road sighs always are shaped into sticks that contribute a lot to dividing space.

Those continuous placed streetlights and avenue trees build up unexpected space. Especially sometimes they are placed together along the street enrich the sense of the spatial division.
